Crowning Events

Ms. Wheelchair Ohio 2025 was selected after a weekend-long event at the Salt Fork Lodge and Conference Center. Four contestants, Alexandra Martinez of Cleveland, Devyn Nicholson of Mount Vernon, Renee Plascencia of Bucyrus, and Rebekah Wyse of Beavercreek, arrived at the Salt Fork Lodge and Conference Center on Saturday, 3/15/2025.

The women explored the origins of our organization and Ms. Wheelchair Ohio 2024 – Gabby Kozinski’s reign, participated in community building activities, then met with judges in two private interview sessions.

The public crowning gala, emceed by Miss Ohio Contestant and Miss Marion Popcorn Kalli Gregory, took place on Sunday, 3/16/2025.

During the gala, the contestants presented their platform speeches and answered two onstage questions in front of an audience and the judging panel.

Judge deliberations resulted in sashing Devyn, Renee, and Rebekah as program ambassadors and crowning Alexandra as Ms. Wheelchair Ohio 2025.

Judging

The goal of this competition is to select the most articulate and accomplished contestant who will educate and inspire others. To determine who would earn which role, the women were judged on their accomplishments, communication skills, self-perception, decorum, presentation, thought, and effort.

The Ambassador Program

The Ms. Wheelchair Ohio Organization has created an ambassador program to continue and improve the advocacy efforts of the women who compete but do not receive the titleholder position. Ambassadors will attend monthly disability-related workshops, represent the Ms. Wheelchair Ohio Organization, and have the opportunity to participate in future state competitions.
