August 2024 in Review

“Hello, everyone! It’s Ms. Wheelchair Ohio, Gabby Kozinski again. I’m not going to lie, this month has been a little chaotic, but I was still able to get some amazing opportunities for the month.

First, on August 16th, I was able to be in the Bucyrus Bratwurst Festival parade as Ms. Wheelchair Ohio. It was great to see so much support from my hometown.

Gabby is wearing her sash and crown, her wheelchair out of frame. Her three siblings sit behind her all in the back of the pickup truck.

Then, from the 19th through the 25th, I had national’s week!!!! I’m extremely grateful that I even got to compete with other state titleholders across the country. Unfortunately, I didn’t bring home the national title, but I was voted by my fellow contestants Ms. Congeniality, which I am very grateful for .

Gabby, sitting in her wheelchair, is wearing a red sequenced dress, her state sash, and a big smile on stage. The women behind her are cheering.

We had different days that we got to dress up for, from Disney (I was sleeping beauty) to decade day (I was a pink lady from grease). Others included under the sea (I wore a blue dress with loose waves), and business casual for interviews (I was so nervous but excited). We even got a shirt from the MWA board to wear on fun day to the Meijer Gardens, which was really fun. There was a scavenger hunt, beautiful scenery, and lots of memories.

Wheelchair-using women and their caregivers form a large group in front of lush greenery. The state titleholders are wearing their sashes, and all are wearing blue Ms. Wheelchair America T-shirts.

Stay tuned for next month’s entry. 😊”
